Summary:	A musical that takes place at the beginning of the 20th century in Tbilissi, where an unmarried washerwoman steals from her rich customers and gives the money to two talented daughters of a poor widowed porter so that they can train as ballet dancers. When she is caught and arrested, her colleagues go on strike to force the authorities to release her.
