Summary:The museum presents a noble array of fine studio ceramics created by Bjørn Wiinblad. Large, beautiful, hand-decorated platters, lidded jars and figures are presented along with examples form the artist's numerous international sources of inspiration such as ceramic works from Asia, Pacific, Meso-America, South America, and the Balkans together with works by some of Denmark's most renowned studio ceramist. As a general rule, the inherent artistic aura often tends to dissipate when handmade one-of-a-kind works are transformed to mass-produced objects. Since Bjørn Wiinblad, if any is associated with proliferous designs on a wide variety of objects, he is likely, initially, to be associated with the specific design - and to a lesser degree with the actual intense artistic nerve which his studio pottery possesses. Exhibition: Danmarks Keramikmuseum, Grimmerhus, Denmark (02.09.2012-24.02.2013).
