"The Mexican School is a biannual series of conferences sponsored by the Gravitation and Mathematical Physics Division of the Mexican Physical Society (DGFM-SMF, for its acronym in Spanish), that started in 1994 with the purposes of discussing and exchanging current world-wide ideas in gravitational physics and related topics. Each Mexican School has been devoted to a particular subject, and these have included supergravity, branes, black holes, the early Universe, observational cosmology, quantum gravity, numerical relativity, and tests of general relativity. The IX Mexican School on Gravitation and Mathematical Physics was also the golden closure for the celebrations of the XXth Anniversary of the DGFM-SMF, and was dedicated to the discussion of the latest results in Cosmology, both theoretical and observational; this is why it was also entitled 'Cosmology for the XXIst Century'."--Preface.
