A few older sheets are "prepared by the Army Map Service (AM ...), Corps of Engineers, U.S. Army, Washington, D.C.." Only the Defense Mapping Agency sheets include a publisher.
Relief shown by contours and spot heights.
Each sheet has individual title and number, for example: 3248 III. Jibāl el Khishsha -- 3754 III. Khabrat Dabādib.
Most sheets include glossary, inset showing boundaries, and index to adjoining sheets.
