Summary:	Stone and its implementation in the art of the Middle Ages this theme over forty French and foreign specialists, art historians, archaeologists, conservators and architects, have teamed up to pay tribute to Eliane Vergnolle, whose work on the art and architecture of the Romanesque period are now authority. The research area of Eliane Vergnolle and technical studies on the stone size dictated the themes explored in this volume, which covers a wide field. Many contributions address the issue of stone work in sculpture and architecture in the Romanesque and Gothic, as well as the artistic creation of more recent periods.
