Foundations of labor and employment law /

This publication is an edited collection of articles displaying leading interdisciplinary thinking in regard to both labor and employment law. The contents are broadly grouped into four parts: frameworks for analyzing labor markets; regulation of labor relations; legal regulation of employment contracts; and the future of labor and employment law. Articles reflect topics such as the changing face of industrial relations, the decline of private sector unionism, employment at will, minimum wages and pensions, looking abroad, reforming unions and labor law, and models for an individualistic future. The Foundations of Law Series offers a collection of comprehensive readings that provide an interdisciplinary perspective on a substantive legal field. Edited by scholars who have made important contributions, the readings are designed to provide an accessible introduction to the leading scholarship in a field. Accompanying notes and questions permit students to engage fully in the literature on their own, as well as to aid their understanding of material covered in classes.
