Summary: | A major study and retrospective of the last 65 years of internationally recognized artist, Sergio Telles (b. Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, 1936) from his first painting in 1945 to the present. This is essentially a catalogue raisonne of paintings and graphic work. Making definitive choice for figurative art, his work has, however, two distinct phases: the academic, which was inculcated by Professor Levino Fnzeres and modern, indelible influence of their association with Ana Maria Nivolies of Pierrefort. He paints landscapes, too, but can not be considered just a landscape artist, since his work covers all genres. It is an eclectic painting, not just in terms of gender, or subject, light, but strong tone, recalling the experiences of the Fauves beginning of the 20th century, but with an obvious touch of modernity.
