| Summary: | He was from a village in the backwoods. She was the girl next door, his lost love. He goes from his small village to the big city of Calcutta. He needs a job in order to live, but needs something more for his soul. On a wet afternoon, he finds his way to her house in a borrowed raincoat. She meets him trapped in silk, and shrouded by darkness in a strange, gloomy house. There in the dark they talk, yet say nothing of what lies between them. This is a story of small town hopes and the insidious corruption of the big city. It is also the story of how love can hold out despite all odds, rising to surprising acts of selflessness, and how one afternoon can prove to be greater than an entire lifetime.
