Summary: | Summary: "Blik op design" brings the development of Dutch tin packaging to the attention of a wide audience. Packaging reflects the most important changes in Dutch society over the past 150 years. Advertising and design also play an increasingly important role in this. The book also features the various aspects of production, as well as Dutch tin manufacturers and their customers. One technical tour de force was the Icosaeder, designed by Escher in 1963. The many illustrations of brands such as Droste, Van Nelle, and Verkade to Coca Cola invoke a multitude of memories. The national collection of tin packaging at the Historisch Museum Deventer forms the basis for the story. "Blik op design" will be released in 2010 to coincide with the exhibition of the same name, 200 years after the invention of the tin can. Exhibition: Historisch Museum Deventer, 20.2-19.9.2010.
