Summary:In the British East Africa country of Kenya, former childhood playmates Peter McKenzie and Kimani have maintained their deep friendship, even though they have a difference in race, class and tradition. Then the bloody Mau Mau spread violence and terror in an effort to sweep the British from the land, the uprising destroys their magnificent homeland. The men discover that even the strongest bond may be stronger than the beat of the drums or the crack of rifles and the cry for freedom.
