Summary:Summary: Life in Las Caldas, a small Asturian village, is symbolized by the thermal baths for which it is named and the endangered wild horses that still make an occasional appearance. The protectress of the village is Doña Amalia, a rich native woman from Cuba. This is the story of her niece Marian, whose ambition to own all of the region. This goal is made more difficult by the bloody events of the Revolution of October 1934 and the war of 1936, years during which Marian's men are reduced to physical and moral ruin, and in the end, a story of the total degradation of those who served the will of a cruel woman in search of a dream.
