Academics rely on University of Chicago Press publications for formatting papers and presentations. When data analyze more than one statistical outcome at once, then an updated guide specific to multivariate analysis proves vital. Miller (Rutgers) is no stranger to statistical literacy and quantitative communication. Her previous publications and her experience with teaching research methods benefit this volume's expansion of the first edition (CH, Mar'06, 43-3731). This second edition offers four additional chapters plus more than 30 new tables and figures. The 20 chapters will serve as a classroom companion in any regression analysis or research methods course. For experienced analysts, the second edition serves as a handy reference for effective communication when preparing papers and presentations. Beyond the pages, a content-rich website is available with podcasts, slide shows, study guides, spreadsheet templates, data sets, and problem sets. The online content is valuable for individual, independent learners or may be incorporated into faculty's classroom lectures. Researchers preparing other numerical data may want to consult Miller's The Chicago Guide to Writing about Numbers (CH, Apr'05, 42-4348). It outlines overall strategies for presenting numbers but clearly lacks the depth needed for multivariate statistics. Summing Up: Recommended. Upper-level undergraduates through professionals/practitioners. K. L. Swetland University of South Carolina Upstate
