Summary:This collection documents the operation of sugar plantations owned by the Shaffer family of Terrebonne Parish, La. Members of the family were William A. Shaffer, his sons Thomas J. Shaffer, John J. Shaffer and John Dalton Shaffer, who were all sugar planters. The Shaffers' plantations, all in Terrebonne Parish, were Crescent Farms, Magnolia, Anna and Ardoyne.
