Walsh's exceptionally well compiled bibliography documents the intersection of feminism and Christian religion, drawing from US journals and books 1968-93, with important earlier sources. The introduction demonstrates impressive thoroughness and depth of scholarship. The book has six sections ("Introductory and Background Materials," "Feminism and the Development of Feminist Theology," "Topical Literatures in Feminist Theology," "Feminism and Womanist Theology," "Religious Leadership of Women," and "Responses and Recent Developments"), each with subtopics that reflect the breadth of women's influence in religion, including worship, Bible studies, feminist sociology, women's studies, critique of heterosexism, and feminist spirituality. Annotations thoroughly assess individual entries, pointing out strengths and weaknesses. The index covers authors, subjects, and titles. An important summary of scholarship in feminism, women's studies, spirituality, and religion, highly recommended for undergraduate and graduate collections. G. Wood; SUNY College at Cortland
