This should rather have been entitled miscellaneous pieces by different authors as some are by Shirley, others by Loaller &c. &c. The whole however is a curious collection. [illegible initials] (added by Mr. G.E.) The above does not apply to the edition of 1640. Inscription: The above from the copy that beloged to His Grace the D. of Marlborough, who appeared to have read the poems with some attention & made some references to authors which had escaped me. His Grace's knowledge is preserved and may be known in this copy by there being affixed the letter, M. Former owner's manuscript annotations in at least 3 hands. Former owner's signature: Johns [illegible]. Bound in between pages [186] and [187]: 1 sheet with manuscript "Variations from an old ms. heresyes[?]" and annotations. Binding: Blue morocco over boards; gold-stamped spine title: Beaumont's poems.
Notes:	"Includes a reprint of 'Salmacis and Hermaphroditus', a translation from Ovid's 'Metamorphoses' which may not be by Beaumont.
