As the title indicates, this work attempts to provide psychologists, educators, and human resource personnel with information about tests. Unfortunately, the descriptions lack information as to the tests' reliability or validity--crucial considerations for determining whether to use a particular test. The presence of an "Index of Tests Not in the Fourth Edition" suggests a low response rate to the editor's request for test information. "How to Use this Book" notes "When ordering tests, the reader should ask each publisher for the standards or requirements for purchasing." But the editor should also have informed readers that most test administration is limited to licensed professionals. The editor has provided a useful overview of psychology, education, and business instruments, but Tests in Print III (1983) is a better source for professionals, since it cites reviews discussing reliability and validity.
