This volume's five chapters and appendix are aimed at providing information for upper-division undergraduates or graduate students working on research/thesis topics. The five chapters consist of 1) Laboratory analysis of Quaternary materials; 2) Sample documentation, preparation and storage; 3) Basic laboratory techniques and procedures; 4) The physical composition and analysis of regolith materials; and 5) The chemical composition and analysis of regolith materials. Chapter 6 is an appendix. The book is very clearly written and illustrated, and takes the reader through the laboratory processes in stepwise manner. Each chapter is divided into a series of subtopics, all of which have a good set of references to further clarify the applications of a particular research technique. A five-page index provides ready access to specific topics.-J. T. Andrews, University of Colorado
