Summary: | The book comprises a graphic account of the history of graphic design in Uruguay between 1807 and 2000 highlighting the influences, historical contributions and the relationships of graphic design and technological changes in the development of printing, advertising and the emergence of mass communication in the 21st century. A third section (appendix) presents interviews with 17 Uruguayan designers of different generations, attitudes and heterogeneous backgrounds (born between 1940 and 1992), about their relationship with the profession. "The second part contains what was seen in the exhibition itself: panels and extended technical information." (HKB Translation) --Page [9]. During its stay in Montevido in 2014 the itinerant exhibition suffered a flood of the premises of the Museum of Migration and unfortunately, almost all of the material (posters, advertisments, books and newspapers) that made up the exhibition were irreversibly damaged, (as recounted in the book.
