Die politischen Regulierungsinstanzen verteidigen weiterhin die Fundamente des Urheberrechts und die exklusiven Schutzansprüche der individuellen Urheber, obwohl diese nicht mehr der Realität entsprechen. Nicht zuletzt aus der Wissenschaft selbst entwickelt sich der Widerstand gegen die fortschreitende Kommodifizierung des überwiegend mit öffentlichen Mitteln produzierten Wissens. Das Buch geht den Fragen nach, ob Finanzierungsmodelle, die Nutzungsfreiheit in die kommerzielle Verwertungs- und Publikationswirtschaft integrieren, nachhaltig sind und ob sich nicht in Zusammenarbeit von Wissenschaftlern, Förder- und Vermittlungsorganisationen wie Bibliotheken, aber auch von Verlagen neue offene Informationsprodukte und -dienstleistungen entwickeln können. Der Autor schlägt das Konzept der ,Nutzungsrechte und Nutzungsfreiheit für Wissen und Information' vor, das an Stelle des individualistischen Urheberrechts treten soll. | ||
