Summary: | College basketball coach Sidney Green was born on January 4, 1961 in Brooklyn, New York. As a high school senior, he was named the New York City Player of the Year. Green attended University of Nevada at Las Vegas. In 1983, he was selected as an NCAA All-American and was drafted by the Chicago Bulls in the first round in the 1983 NBA Draft. Green had a successful career in the NBA and played for the Chicago Bulls, Detroit Pistons, New York Knicks, Orlando Magic, San Antonio Spurs, and the Charlotte Hornets before retiring in 1993. In 1995, Green began his coaching career and worked at Southampton College, the University of North Florida, Florida Atlantic University and the University of Indiana. In 2009, he was named ambassador for the Chicago Bulls. In 1989, Green received the NBA National Spirit of Love Award.
