Summary:Nuclear physicist Paul Gu ye was born on July 8, 1966 in Dakar, Senegal. He earned his B.S and M.S. degrees in physics and chemistry from the University Cheikh Anta Diop in 1987 and 1990, respectively. Gu ye received his Ph.D. degree in nuclear physics from the University of Clermont-Ferrand in 1994. He joined the physics department at Hampton University as a postdoctoral fellow and conducted research at the Thomas Jefferson National Accelerator Facility. Since 2001, he worked as a research professor and head of brachytherapy research and development for the medical physics graduate program at Hampton University. Gu ye worked extensively with the National Society of Black Physicists including serving as co-chair of the medical physics section, chair of pre-college programs committee and co-chair of the nuclear and particle physics section. Gu ye was also involved in medical physics related to dose measurements and distribution. He was president of the National Society of Black Physicists.
