Summary:Non profit executive Julius Wayne Dudley was born on October 29, 1944 in Atlanta, Georgia. Dudley developed his passion for books from his mother, who read to him nightly. Educated at Morris Brown College, Clark Atlanta University, the University of Cincinnati and Harvard University, Dudley tutored inner-city youth and also sending books to Africa. Through the Phelps-Stokes Fund, of which he has served as vice president, Dudley sent more than four million books to a number of countries in Africa. Dudley has also served as professor emeritus at Salem State University in Massachusetts. His work for literacy has earned him the praise of others.
