| Summary: | Lawyer Channing D. Johnson was born on February 21, 1951 in Pasadena, California. He earned his A.B. degree in economics from Stanford University in 1972 and his J.D. degree from Harvard Law School in 1975. Johnson worked as chief deputy to Los Angeles city councilman Robert C. Farrell, before becoming president of Economic Resources Corp. He joined Kaye Scholer LLP in 1986, and began representing high-profile clients such as TLC, Stevie Wonder, GospoCentric Records, and SFX Entertainment. After joining Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP, he negotiated the $30 million acquisition of The Great Western Forum arena for the Faithful Central Bible Church. Johnson went on to represent faith-based clients including Bishop T.D. Jakes' TDJ Enterprises. He joined Loeb and Loeb LLP in 2009, representing entertainment clients such as Red Granite Pictures. Johnson served as board chair of KCET Television, leading the company in a merger with Link Media.
