Summary:Motion picture and television producer Debra Martin Chase was born October 11, 1956, in Great Lakes, Illinois but grew up in Pasadena, California. Chase earned her B.A. degree from Mount Holyoke College in 1977; and her J. D. from Harvard Law School in 1981. She practiced law in Houston and New York City. In 1988, she joined the legal department of Columbia Pictures and became executive assistant to the chairman, who promoted her to the creative staff. She ran Denzel Washington's Mundy Lane Entertainment company from 1992 to 1995; and Whitney Houston's Brown House Productions from 1995 to 2000. Chase's credits include Hank Aaron: Chasing the Dream (executive producer); Cinderella (co-executive producer); The Princess Diaries (producer); The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants (producer); and Lovestruck (producer). She had a long-term agreement with ABC Television. She was on the board of trustees of Mount Holyoke College.
