Summary: | Corporate executive and publisher Donald L. Miller was born on January 10, 1932 in New York City. He earned his B.A. degree from the University of Maryland in 1967 after serving in the U.S. Army. While serving in the Army, Miller rose to the rank of major, and earned the Legion of Merit in 1968. He later became deputy assistant secretary of defense, serving from December 1971 to January 1973. He earned the Department of Defense's Distinguished Civilian Award in 1973. Miller served as an administrator at Columbia University before assuming executive posts with several leading companies, including Dow Jones & Company. From 1995 to 1997, he held the posts of CEO and publisher of Our World News. Miller was active in several professional and community organizations, serving on the boards of the Bank of New York and Schering Plough. Miller passed away on August 29, 2015 at age 83.
