Summary:Entrepreneur and economic adviser Morris E. Robinson, Sr. was born in Chicago on January 20, 1945. He grew up in Chicago and was educated in its school system. In 1963, Robinson enrolled at Loop Junior College and later spent a year at Luther College in Decora, Iowa. He transferred to Roosevelt University in 1965 and the following year entered the Army. After returning to civilian life in 1971, Robinson re-enrolled at Roosevelt, where he received his B.A. degree in political science in 1973. After working at First National Bank and Allstate Insurance, he started his own graphic design business, Robinson Designs, and ran a wireless telephone franchise. Robinson later became economic development planner for the City of Evanston and in 1999 was honored by the United Way as the city's employee of the year. Robinson lived with his wife, Emma Scarborough, in Evanston.
