This book addresses the challenge of transitioning to 100 percent clean, renewable energy over the next 50 years. There is ample wind and solar energy to generate electricity for electric vehicles, electric heating, and industrial production, but how can the transition be accomplished efficiently and effectively? Energy and justice, as well as what people and governments can do, are topics found within this book. The authors discuss the importance of research and development related to renewable energy and its applications, and the health benefits of transitioning from coal and petroleum to wind and solar energy are included. The recent Paris Agreement to fight climate change is an important step forward. Many governments can now cooperatively act to provide incentives for reducing carbon emissions and promoting the transition to renewable energy. This book is written for students who wish to learn how to best accomplish the transition to renewable energy and for members of the general public who desire a good introduction to the topic of clean energy and climate change. Summing Up: Recommended. All readers. --Larry E. Erickson, Kansas State University
