Summary:Jesuit priest Nelson Peña S.J. was the adviser of the Religious Dances of the dioceses de Arica for seven years. Throughout the book, the author makes an outline of the history and cosmovision of the five religious "associations" in the northern city. The text focus on the dances dedicated to the devotion of the image of the Virgin Mary in the Sanctuary of Las Peñas and how they have developed since the 1960's. From a pastoral perspective, the book includes the collaboration of different authors, the experience of the author as the "Adviser" and the emotional testimonies of the dancers and "promesantes" (those who have made a promise to the Virgen Mary). "This text reflects an appreciation of the history and the tradition of religious dances of the diocese of Arica, from the experience of Fr. Nelson as Advisor for Religious dances Arica."--website.
