Summary:Born in Bristol in 1945, artist Richard Long has created his body of work by walking through the landscapes of each continent and making sculptures from the materials he finds in situ along the way. Combining minimalist, conceptual, and Arte Povera practices, he has been a leading figure in the Land Art movement since its beginnings in the late 1960s. His interest lies in natural, primal materials like stones, water, and mud, and simple, universal forms like circles, lines, and crosses. Published on the occasion of an exhibition at CAC Málaga which mainly focuses on his most recent works since the turn of the century, this catalogue presents reproductions and installation views.
