"Of all the surviving copies Miklós Oláh's Psalter published in the present volume has extraordinary significance for the history of melodies. As it emerges from the descriptions, its reliably notated melodies are deeply embedded in the medieval Hungarian tradition; they are the last musical evidence of the living Esztergom Office. The printed Psalterium Strigoniense of 1523 once in the property of archbishop Miklós Oláh is therefore an authoritative source of the medieval liturgical music of Esztergom ..."--Page 130.
"The text of the Oláh Psalter is ... incomplete ... the injured or completely lost sections of the text have been digitally supplemented partly from the restored Esztergom copy, partly from the copy held in Turócszentmárton (Martin, Slovakia). By moving back the psalms for the Prime on weekdays and the Compline to their one-time place, the original sequence of the pages of the Oláh Psalter has been restored. As a result, the present edition offers the reader the Munich copy of the printed Psalterium Strigoniense of 1523 in a reconstructed form."--Page 147.
