| Summary: | English summary: Graphemics is the study of writing systems and graphemes are the most basic unit used to describe parts of a written language. In graphematic words, alphabetical graphemes can stand next to other characters, such as punctuation marks like the period or abbreviation mark, the hyphen, and the apostrophe. These three symbols make up the inventory of logograms (word-marks) of the standard written language of German and they are part of a consistent, formal, and functional system, with which graphematic words are segmented and structured. In order to illustrate this point, this study uses actual occurring, logogramic writings from a dictionary of word abbreviations as well as newspaper texts, which are analyzed and categorized with respect to their method of formation and grammatical structure. The results are interesting not only with regard to morphology, but especially in understanding the rules that determine the use of word-marks in a written alphabetical language (the graphotactics of logograms), including the linear succession within a graphic word-form, its relationship to and among neighboring units, as well as the forms of the characters themselves. German description: In graphematischen Wortern konnen neben alphabetischen Graphemen andere Zeichen stehen, hier sind vor allem der Abkurzungspunkt, der Divis sowie der Apostroph zu nennen. Diese drei Zeichen bilden das Inventar der Wortzeichen der Standardschriftsprache des Deutschen. Es handelt sich hierbei um ein in sich konsistentes formales und funktionales System, mit dem graphematische Worter segmentiert und strukturiert werden. Um dies zu zeigen, werden tatsachlich vorkommende wortzeichenhaltige Schreibungen aus einem Abkurzungsworterbuch sowie aus Zeitungstexten im Hinblick auf ihre Bildungsweise und grammatische Struktur analysiert und kategorisiert. Hierbei interessiert nicht nur die Morphologie, sondern vor allem auch die Graphotaktik der Wortzeichen, also die lineare Abfolge innerhalb einer graphischen Wortform, mit ihren Nachbareinheiten und untereinander sowie die Form der Zeichen selbst. |
